maxi sys pro 908 will not connect to ford 7.3 diesels

     my maxisys pro908 will not connect to ford 7.3 diesels and while plugged in and trying to connect  it will stall engine and not allow it to start until j2534 unplugged!!

     that is very strange but possible  do you have another scantool you can try to rule out the possibility of a bad j2534  see if a different scantool will communicate if it does not then there is an issue with that truck bus line if it does connect then you know is your passthru  good luck

     Yes I have a modis that will connect fine. Also just tried connecting to a 96 Toyota. . Same thing autel will not connect modis will. Strange thing is I troubleshot a 06 superduty this morning with it data stream and ranall tests I needed perfectly just hit and miss with what it will connect to!! Just got it so didn't know if this is common still having to go back to snap on scanner and that is what I'm trying to replace!!

      regarding toyota  it has to be 97 and up  forget about connecting before 97  now the truck not connecting and stalling that has to be a bad j2534 interface  i hope am wrong but that is what it looks like  i bought a drewtech passthru  a few month ago and it did exactly the same thing every time i connect it the car will stall and the gauges will go crazy  that is what bad interfaces does  i have  already heard of a few cases of this maxiflash pro acting up and doing all kinds of crazy stuff  don't wait too long get another one while its under warranty  good luck.

    My autel is doing the same thing. I to have t get using my snap on scanner.
    Very poor form by autel and I have received zero support

     well this matter needs to be resolved not with autel but your tool supplier. hope its under warranty, if it is get it replaced asap. also if you have not updated your vci do so it could solve your problem not likely but it can happen.

     I had this exact same thing and when I contacted support they told me to send the unit in.  They wanted both the VCI and the Tablet.  I sent in 1 week before the warranty was up.  I got a brand new unit in 3 days.  They replaced both the VCI and the Tablet.  No more issues after that, so get it replaced before the warranty is up. Oh it was the MS908 and not the pro version.

    Welcome back, we miss you.  It was very boring here without you.

    I brought the scanner online and it was a USA model through a registered reseller by Autel USA.  I called USA tech support and they told me to send it to their Long Island, NY address.  I sent it in Fedex overnight and they shipped it out the following day back to me.  A brand new unit and they even updated it for me before they shipped it out because by the time I got it back the updates had expired the day before.
